Experiences of ageing, sex and HIV infection at older age in rural Malawi

Description: My PhD research considers experiences of HIV infection at older ages in rural southern Malawi. It situates these experiences within the meanings of sexuality in the social, cultural and conceptual context of people’s lives, as well as in experiences and understandings of ‘being old’ more broadly. The work is based on qualitative data I collected over 11 months of fieldwork between 2008 and 2010.
